Choices

Have you all seen that Nutri-Grain commercial? I like how realistic it is. How real life it is. How it depicts how easy it is to make one 'wrong choice' can trigger a downward spiral. I like how without really coming out and saying it how it emphasis that breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. That if we wake up and have one of those fast food biscuit with egg/sausage that is worth 1, 000 calories. If and when we make such a choice for breakfast when lunch time comes around its easier to pick pizza over a salad/healthier choice. So we are more likely to have pizza, soda and a cookie for lunch as opposed to having a salad and a cup of water with some fruit.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the first food choice we make in the morning is what we stick with for the rest of the day be it lunch and/or dinner. Its just hard to break the cycle. You know the same way the first song you hear in the morning stays in your head for the rest of the day? yup that way!

SO. Let's all strive to wake up and choose right. Oatmeal over a greasy breakfast sandwich. A salad/tuna sandwich over a few slices of pizza. A healthy dinner choice over left over pizza. You catch my drift? the first choice you make in the morning is a greatly determines the choices you make throughout the day.

My practical example from today:

Breakfast- 4 slices of bacon, 3 sausage links
Lunch- 2 hard boiled eggs
Dinner-4 slices of pepperoni pizza
Water-Zilch

Loaded Oatmeal

I shared some pictures from this summer's vacay with friends and it was so motivating to hear all things good about how great I looked and how I've lost "a lot of weight"

I've not done sit ups in a while neither have I been running. But the other day I walked into the local store and they had a sale for oatmeal and all the healthy breakfast condiments. And really who has such a sale? right? So my awesome best person grabbed me a bunch of heart healthy oatmeal and vanilla extract. And guess what? this morning I had filling loaded oatmeal for breakfast. My loaded oatmeal contains; 1/2 cuppa oats, a tbs of brown sugar, a tbs of vanilla extract, a handful of raisins, a handful of cranberries and a dash of freshly ground cinnamon. Absolutely delish and filling :) I greatly recommend you try if you already haven't.

Besides that its kinda slow in my neck of the woods. But I'll be back soon with more updates.

Y'all have a week full of healthy eating and drinking choices

XO!!!
